A selection of mediocre pictures of the day can be found here:

I wandered back to Catani Gardens later on, and somehow ended up at the back of the team enclosure the wrong side of the crowd barrier. To my surprise was brushing shoulders with Nathan O'Neill complete with gold medal still round his neck! I resisted the urge to yell some something Pro-pommie/Anti-aussie, especially since he was on his moby at the time (probably to his american Missus?). Still a cool way to end the day.

then agai i ride bikes you can steer properly

That rider came past me at 10:45:30, and Kathy Watt's start time was
listed as 10.45, so I'll say yes and await contradiction.

it looks like her & she was the only aust girl in short sleeves, and she was riding a Walmart, sorry Walser bike.

Gotta google that -see what exactly it is!

No one else is as short as Kathy. Notice the very small distance between the height of handlebars and the front wheel - only just legal.

Google is my friend: Andy Walser hand made carbon frame TT bikes (looks like he does racing snow toboggan thingies too). Ullrich rode one of his TT bikes instead of a bianchi for a TdF. He also made a bike for Sven Montgomery of Gerolsteiner, which was rebadge "Willier" for team purposes.

I retract my Walmart comment pronto!!!!
