training year to date with weekly TSS and average IF. On my two best weeks, I managed to get outside for a 3-4hr weekend tempo ride. I find it hard to get over 700 TSS or so purely indoors but there are only 'weeks' to go now rather than months!

January 1st CTL 82.7

January 31st CTL 89.8 (95.4 High for the Month)

Total TSS 3064

I live in Norcal so most of the time was outdoors.

Time - 37:54:18

Work - 38436 kJ
IF - 0.856

January 1st CTL - 72.4
January 31st CTL - 81.5

All indoors.

CTL Jan 1-63
CTL Jan 31-84

TSS-3583
kJ-43393
Miles-902 mi
Duration-52.4 hrs

Outside on the weekends and on the trainer during the week.

Time: 72:40
TSS: 4099
IF: .75
Jan 1 CTL: 125
Jan 31 CTL: 130

I need to adjust my FTP estimate up a bit so those numbers are a tad high.
All training except for two rides done outdoors - 90% of outdoor rides done in the rain. Weather sucked in NorCal last month - but it was 70F and blue skies today!

I was thinking that's crazy, but then I looked at my numbers and my hours are higher and only one trainer ride, but everything else is lower, including FTP...

Well, those numbers are based on what now appears to be under-estimated FTP, so that would make sense, I guess. After my season break, I knocked 5% off my FTP based on what I've seen (and what my coach has found is typical) from end of season taper + end of season break. I haven't really gotten around to adjusting it back up, but I do have a solid 5 months of training under my belt and 340 sure feels like 320 used to, so I guess I better change it before the PMC gets too out of whack.

If I retroactively adjust my FTP from 290 to 310 effective Jan 1, those numbers take a big hit:
1/1 125
1/31 118
TSS 3587
IF .702

Thankfully, kJ stays the same at 47 465, so I don't feel like a total slacker. :)
I suppose one way to address the change would be to apply it evenly over several months, but that's not how it feels - feels like someone just took the chain off! So, pending this weekend's crits, when I'll get a few longer duration data points, I'll probably just start using the new FTP after this rest week. So then I get to switch from feeling good about my weekly TSS and my CTL to feeling good about my FTP. Or, preferrably, some race results.

BTW, nice to know someone puts in more hours than I do, Steven. I always feel a bit guilty about spending so much time riding my bike outside when everyone on the internet seems only allowed access to a trainer in the basement for no more than 12 hours a week.
