I have been a relatively long-term fan of cycling, or at least the Grand Tours, and I have always promised myself that I would get involved in cycling at some point.
I am 31 now so would like to start this sooner rather than later partly due to a (potentially impossible!) desire to ride a TDF stage at some point in the next couple of years.
As such I would be really interested to get any advice possible about bike purchasing anyone would be kind enough to offer. I would prefer equipment which was primarily designed as a road bike which could also be used in some off-road scenarios. I don't even know if that is possible but would be hugely interested to hear any opinions or advice.
