I am currently thinking of modernizing my Concorde Aquila (has been in storage and is in excellent condition) with a new ultegra groupo and decent wheels. I am now riding a trek 5500 and have riden titanium and aluminum in the past.

Questions: Should I also upgrade the fork to carbon?
Does anyone else feel that maybe steel still has a good feel to it or am I just a bit nostialgic?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers

I love the steel fork on my old steel Trek. Whereas a carbon fork will be lighter, I don't think that it will ride better than the steel. Now the whippy aluminum forks from the late 80's weren't to great and carbon would probably be better than those.

I would definitely keep the steel fork.
