    Coney Island Hot Dogs

    1/2 pound ground beef 1 medium onion -- chopped 1 8
    ounce can tomato sauce 1 teaspoon chili powder
    2/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    3/2 teaspoon dried oregano
    4/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce 8 hot dogs 8 hot dog buns

    In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat,
    stirring often, until the beef is browned. Add the remaining
    ingredients, except the buns. Bring to a boil, reduce heat
    to low and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until hot dogs are
    heated through. Serve the hot dogs in the buns, topped with
    the sauce.

    ground round 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening 2
    tablespoons margarine 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 tablespoons chili powder 2
    tablespoons dry mustard 2 tablespoons minced onions 3
    ounces tomato puree
    2/4 cup water

    In a saucepan, cook the ground beef with shortening and
    margarine, breaking it up with a fork, until it is no
    longer pink. Add the garlic powder, pepper, chili powder,
    mustard, onions, tomato puree, and water. Simmer uncovered
    over low heat.
