Yup, I struggled with them too. I had more trouble with the rear. I am
using Velocity Aerohead rims. They do get easier after the first time.
I had a flat, on the rear and was able to reinstall it, without tools.

Your problem is the Campagnolo Zonda wheels. I have some Campagnolo
Vento wheels and they are extremely difficult to mount tires onto.
Well used Continental tires which literally slip over Open Pro rims
require extreme force and/or tire levers to get them onto the
Campagnolo Vento wheels. One bit of advice is to use the thinnest rim
strip you can find. I posted a thread about thin rim strips a few
weeks ago and there were many responses about thin rim strips. The
one I used was to get some 3M packing tape from Menards and use it as
the rim strip. Menards has 18mm wide 3M strapping tape. Home Depot
has 25mm wide 3M strapping tape. Find the 18mm wide one. I used the
suggestion of putting a small square across each spoke hole and then
wrapping the rim in two layers of strapping tape. I am also deflating
the tires between uses to lessen the chances of the rim strip from
failing.
