Convert Mavic wheel to Campy Freehub?

Hello, I have heard that converting to a Campy freehub body
on a Mavic wheel is as easy as swapping out the freehub
body, and that any decent shop can do this. Does anyone
have an idea of cost and availability of the Campy
compatible part?

I am going with Campy Record 10 speed...switching from
DA 9 speed.

Thanks, Dave

Mavic hasn't done well in supporting early versions of their
wheels. What wheel would you like to convert?

Campagnolo freehubs for things like Ksyriums are in the
$100 range.

If I'm understanding your question correctly (i.e. the
Mavics have Shimano freehubs), another options is to get a
"conversion" cassette. I did this on a rear Cosmos wheel
with an American Classic 10spd cassette so I could install a
Campy 10spd drivetrain. I've only gone on a few rides on it,
but so far it's worked just fine, with very smooth and crisp
shifting. These tend to be somewhat expensive, but so are
higher-end Campy cassettes.
