Since there's no rec.bicycles.really_cold_adventures, I thought some folks here would enjoy

"Doug Stoup is in Patriot Hills, Antarctica weathering the storm. As conditions improve, he will
continue his solo ICE BIKE expedition (through the 24th). He's pedaling a custom-built ice bike
designed by Dan Hanebrink (HANEBRINK). He plans to trek the Ellsworth Mountain region
(unsupported) and carrying all of his supplies on a sled. This is a test run for a later
expedition to the South Pole."
No plastic bits on his bike!
