A friend shared this site with me this morning:

http://www.routeslip.com/

It's in beta-testing, so I don't think many of us are aware of it. You
can enter your routes using an interactive map. It determines the
elevation profile, which is way cool since this information is
sometimes hard to get. I don't know what database it's using for this,
but it appears accurate for routes around Farmville, VA and Birmingham,
AL, two areas I'm familiar with. You can enter notes, giving detailed
directions for turns, warnings about dogs, good rest stops, etc.

You can also log your rides online, so all your friends can keep up
with you (and you with them). And, of course, you can search for
routes that others have entered. Cool site.
