  1. Blueberry Buckle

My brother, sister and I would go out into the woods in Northern
Minnesota, where we would spend every summer when we were young, to pick wild
blueberries (the teeny tiny ones!) until we'd finally get 2 cups to make
this! It was worth all the picking! Jane

    3/4 cup sugar
    1/4 cup shortening
    1 egg
    1/2 cup milk
    2 cup flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 cup drained blueberries.
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/3 cup sifted flour
    1/4 cup soft butter

Cream 3/4 cup sugar with shortening. Add egg and milk. Mix in flour,
baking powder and salt Gently blend in 2 cup drained blueberries. Turn in to 9
inch greased pan (square or round) . Cut the remaining 1/2 cup sugar with
cinnamon, sifted flour and butter and sprinkle over the top. Bake at 375 for 45
to 50 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve
    warm. 9 servings
