I have never even looked at Craigslist until this past week. I see people
here talking about it all the time so I took a look. I make clocks to sell and
of late have not done that well with them, in the past I sold several a month.

I listed a couple of them on Craigslist and so far I have had some inquires
but when I answer them they turn out to be religious fanatics or political
extremists. Or someone trying to help me through this hard time by buying
something they have they claim I can get rich with. One email is so long
it would take all day to read it. All about what the government is doing
wrong.

They have asked about my race, and if I am a mason, and do I have
drugs to sell. They want old perception stuff.

Is this normal or what? I have the emails forwarded by Craigslist.

You need to weed out the BS replies by having THEM put something specific to your wares in the subject line of their email inquiries.

Like "ark Kansas" clock guy. If something like that doesn't appear in the subject line don't even bother to open it.

Yah, you did nothing wrong. Craigslist is good but has become spam central you just need to weed through the B.S..

+1 on the spam/scams that plague Craigslist. I tried to sell a complete computer setup for a friend on Craigslist a while ago, the only inquiries I got were the bogus check/shipping scams, even though the ad stated 'cash and pickup only'.
