I have a small problem. I have a gry fisher advance bike. I lost one of the crank bolts on the left side of the bike. I put a one dollar bolt on from another bike i have and now there is a "clink" sound on the crank area. Just wondering if that could be the problem. Can anybody please help because this is very annoying and its starting to worry me.

I had a that noise on my old Gary Fisher Zebrano. It was time for a free check at my bike shop so they checked it out. The first thing they looked at was to see if the loose end of the front derailer cable was hitting the crank arm when pedaling. That was fine. The problem was the crank arm itself getting loose from normal use. The click always occured at the same pedal position regardless of what gear you were in (mine was a triple). It's very possible the new bolt isn't completly campatable.
