Help, I have an irritating creak in my headtube somewhere. Just put on a CF fork. I've had these creaks before but not in several yrs. Anybody got a clue where it is most common in the intricates of the set? cycling psycho

I reckon the most common places at the front are the bar/stem clamp, and between the spacers, especially carbon spacers. I had one a while, and I slopped grease everywhere, and it went any.

Usually will be at the stem and top cap, as mentioned. Is it a new headset? Some headsets will creak if they are overtightened, undertightened or not greased.

It is a new sealed headset. How in the world do you know how much to torque it upon wrenching it? I don't want to crush the bearings. Do sealed bearings need to be greased? I don't see much of an opening to put the grease. OK, I'm goin in fella's.🙄
