i bought some cheap tandem bicycle off ebay, and it required assembling. everything went together ok, but when i tried to screw on the pedals, they wouldn't go in correctly... they kept going in at a slight angle. (i know that the non-drive side is reversed threaded) does anyone know the size of the tap to re-thread the cranks? and where they'd even sell one that's reverse threaded for the other side?

A friend of mine completely stripped his on one side and had to have it helicoiled by his local bike shop. Not too cheap but cheaper than buying new cranks (unless you can turn up another e-bay bargain or beg, borrow (don't steal) a new set) and cheaper than buyer the tap set. I think it cost him round about £10
