Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and to cycling.

I am an avid runner and have been wanting to get into triathlons for a while but was just waiting for a good deal on a bike.

I just bought a Giant Trinity A1 and the sizing is perfect in every aspect but one. I need the seat post to come down about 1/2 in. further than it will go due to the back tire inset into the frame. I was wondering if it would be a good idea/possible to cut about 1/2" to 1" off the seat post to allow for a lower setting? The seat post is carbon fiber.

Thank you very much for your answers/advice.

thats not a problem, just make sure you know how to cut carbon fiber. a hacksaw with a grit blade works well or take it to your lbs and ask them to do it. should be a freebie, it's pretty easy.
