Ok so I'm new to cycling but a keen runner and have been roped into the London to Paris with work. I've got 1,000 to spend in Halfords on the cycle to work scheme, I'm not sure if I should get a Boardman mid range road bike circa 799 or a Boardman cx for 899. Help please road or cx I'm not sure of the pros and cons of either. my guess is a pure road bike will limit me? Thanks for your help

it really depends on what is your long term motivation, both look like excellent bikes, with the CX you will have more stability and space for fenders for example, having got disc brakes and all, but if you like more speed and race orientation then you should go for the road bike, difficult to tell but with those 2 you will be satisfied one way or the other,
