hi guys

this is my first post here, so i`m hoping you are all going to be nice and helpful.

OK, myself and 2 friends are going to cycle around the lake district in 2 months.

the route we are proposing is:

leave windermere on the a591
take the a66
onto the a595
then onto the a5092
then the a592 back to windermere.

has anyone completed this route, if so what are your thoughts?

also, can anyone recommend good b+bs along the way.

can anyone recommend good websites for cyclists in the lake district?

thanks in advance everyone.

I guess this is too late?
The Lakes is great for cycling but as general rule avoid the main roads in and out of the area as the traffic can be really bad.

Best rides will probably take in the mountain passes, unless yer fit yer suffer without a triple chain set on the steep bits which are sometimes 1in 4 or even 1 in 3!!!

Check out the Fred Whittion challenge if your needing inspiration.
