Yet another in the long list of [censored] cycling farcilities. Last week I was in Newark (Notts, not Noo Joizy), driving along the London Road from the A1.
The adjacent pavement was split into a pedestrian bit and a cycling bit with a line of standard issue magic paint to separate the pedestrians from the cyclists. Naturally at each side road (and possibly driveway) the cycle path was festooned with give way signs, making sure those pesky cyclists were kept in their place.
The best bit, however, was where the pavement/cycle path went passed a school. A sign saying "Cyclists dismount during times of high pedestrian activity" or simla.
