Cycling jerseys -- why so expensive?

It's weird...a bike with a frame/fork built in China with very simple mechanical components sourced from the cheapest labor on the planet costs $5,000-$10,000 when an econobox car only fetches $15,000-$20,000.
Taiwan is far from the cheapest labour on the planet.

Exactly. There's nothing 'high performance' about the Saratoga. It's a station wagon with wings. 300 HP in a single-seat, clipped wing pylon racer...now that's got some hot sauce on it.

My father's flight instructor managed to fly a Taylorcraft into a hillside and waste himself. A fargin' Taylorcraft.

Same same. He lost the ball and despite having hundreds, if not thousands, of hours in the type he splatted, never knowing where he was.

No problem. I'll get the Vietnamese to call the Cambodians and we'll do lunch over some Thai and a few frame mold drawings and layup schedules I keep handy. Although I'm still thinking a frame manufactured in the Democratic Republic of Congo would have some immediate road cred, even Mozambique could turn out a huge seller! Who can resist buying a frame with a national flag on it that features a Kalashnikov?

Not sure what you are talking about, but for example I don't see whats wrong with made in Russia....or even commi China.

hmm, well I "try" not to buy from countries that have an aggressive plan to build their military up with the sole purpose of destroying us. Obviously there are lot of things impossible not to buy that were made in China, but if I have a choice I don't.

Guess you are right, I shouldn't ride Specialized bikes anymore ;D

By the way if China was about to start a war, it likely wouldn't be to destroy anyone. It's nice to think that they're that idealistic, but they are really no better than us in that regard, its all about the benjamin. Would also be a pretty ******** move to hoard billions of dollars and then attack the US, but whatever...

Great point, I hear what you're saying, we should all help build up China's military by buying their crappy junk that breaks all the time and hope they come after us and destroy us because we're the worlds trouble maker...great point. I hope you're around when that happens so I can watch you celebrate.

China has already came out and said they may lose $ if they attack us and it could set them back 20 years but they've been waiting for 2 thousand years to make this happen so a 20 year set back would be nothing. This is why their building a military to take on ours, why ours if your so smart? why not just a coastal patrol fleet? we have no ambitions to ever hit China regardless if they have a huge military or a none! So what are they fearing? Russia, nope; Japan? give me a break; who?

Do you even read, brah? China invests less than a fifth in its military compared to the US if you go by absolute numbers. And about half of that of the US if you go by GDP. China hasnt participated in a war for more than 30years if I recall correctly and the wars before that were mostly border conflicts. What about the US? Gulf war, Kosovo, Bosnia, Afghanistan, lately Iraq and Lybia once again, now Syria.

So clearly China is the warmonger I should fear...what?

Chinas military expenditures in % of GDP are even lower than the worlds average. Sad how someone can be that brainwashed that even naming facts doesn't matter to them.

you don't understand anything, look China can spend a 5th of what we spend because their labor rates are far far less than ours, get a clue before going off half cocked. Geez talking about someone being brain washed.

and again you did not read, I also wrote that they spend about 50% less than the US if you go by GDP. 2% compared to the US 4.1% Its nice to call what I say halfcooked or say I do not understand but I would appreciate if you'd respond to what I actually wrote and get the facts straight. I mean ou know what GDP is, right? Cause you bringing up labor rates makes me question that.

Edit:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_military_expenditures_per_capita

1US military expenditures are 5 times higher
2US military expenditures by GDP are 2 times higher
3US military expenditures per capita are >28times higher, while labor rates are only 4-5times higher.

There is no way to argue against that the US does spend significantly more money on defense, no matter what way you approach it,
