Cycling on the road: Myths vs. Reality

Myth: Riding to work is too hard
Reality: No it isn't - you're too soft.

Myth: Cyclists are wannabe motorists but can't afford a car
Reality: Some of are, some of us aren't.

Myth: Cyclists is a term describing a homogeneous group
Reality: You gotta be kidding!!!

ooh ooh, I forgot:

Myth: Cyclists place their safety at risk with their irresponsible behaviour on the roads
Reality: There is no road user that cares more about road safety than a cyclist.

Damn near close to a perfect response. Well done.

did I hear a news report this morning saying that John Brumby wanted to encourage more cycling commuters?

Yes, I think I did

MMM mentioned that 461 commuters use swanston street per hour in peak hours.

Then went back to *****ing about the traffic.

Love the traffic report when I wake up that the freeways are running normally (at 6am). Surely normal is what happens when most people are using them, the median experience ie. instead of 20 mins on the southeastern surely normal is 60 mins?
