I sent emails to cycling.tv when my computer crashed and I subsequently had trouble logging in. They have not been helpful in the least in restoring my account and in fact have been rude and complete assh#les. I enclose in entirety the last email they sent me, in response to my simple request for info how to log back in, after I had paid 40 dollars to watch like paris Roubaiz, (I had thought they were live streaming the Giro) Here is their psychotic response) and I quote:

"It is not and was not advertised that the Giro would be on our premium
channel.

OLN own all teh rights and we have partnered them for the online
covorage.

You say you should be able to get it through us on our channel? We
cannot
just show every race we want we have to pay the rights owners for the
privalige. We ar enot a charity. $40 a year for all the spring
classics(exept Flanders) is a bargin!! Maybe we could fly everyone over
to
watch the race inperson? We may have to charge $60 for that.

Do you have any idea why OLN don't cover much cycling? Because it
doesn't
pay for them. Being a niche market allows us to target the viewers who
want to pay for a product that they cannot get elsewhere.

Please appriciate what value for money you are getting and see that you
need to pay a little extra to get the 2nd largest race of the year.

Regards
TEAM"

TEAM take tis and shove it.
I am sending this to everyone I know.

Were you under the mistaken impression that the cycling.tv "regular web site"'s premium channel would cover the Giro? The e-mail chain alludes to a potential uncertainty on your part at some point in time in that regard. ;)

Applicable part of your e-mail exchange with OLN is as follows:

"It is not and was not advertised that the Giro would be on our premium
channel. OLN own all teh rights and we have partnered them for the online
covorage."

somebody on the mmba.org site had the same problem. i'm trying to find the post right now.

i dont have the time nor the time zone to watch the giro live on the net

but when it comes to watching the TdF on the net, go with TV2 in Denmark. I paid about 20$US last year for le tour and the coverage was excellent, the feed consistently great. they also had a package for the Vuelta.

helps that i can speak some danish but it is not a requirement.
in fact last year the coverage was pretty much at the same time as OLN was showing lancelot's 7th road to victory, so you could watch the TV2 feed and listen to Phil, who is always THE BEST, while watching the 'puter...

plus the internet feed was commercial free.

and no al trout-wad to boot

...

which is nice

On the OLN/cycling.tv joint website dedicated to the Giro (separate subscription), you can watch same day summaries of that day's stages, and rior stages. It doesn't have to be live, although live is an option (for certain parts of the stages, at least).

I also canno twatch most OLN/cycling.tv streaming live. But I get home and then have a wonderful approx 1 hour amount of coverage.

I am so grateful we have that, and the basic cycling.tv site. Without that coverage, which is pretty reasonably priced, we in the US would not get to watch a lot of European races. :p

For me, this streaming video isn't that bad. I can watch, or at least listen to the race while I get some work done.

I actually find that pretty funny. At least they have a sense of humor. And I would certainly agree to $60 for being flown to each race! ;)

So what was it that you sent to them? You weren't rude were you? :)
