Cyclist dies in collision

An elderly cyclist died today after a collision with a car in Melbourne's
inner north.
The accident at about 6.15am (AEDT) was at the intersection of College
Crescent and Cemetery Road West in Parkville, police said.
"The cyclist, a 70-year-old-man, received serious injuries and was taken to
hospital were he died a short time later," a police spokeswoman said.
"The driver of the car, a 30-year-old man, was not injured."
The cyclist's death takes Victoria's road toll to 330, up by 16 on the same
time last year.
