In the last 12 months Australian cyclist have proved they're amongst the best in the world at the World Track Champs, TdF, Olympics, Paralympics and now the Deaflympics being held here in Melbourne. On ya Reece!

From the Herald Sun
Cyclist Reece-Emerson van Beek claimed Australia's first Deaflympic gold medal on Saturday night in the individual time trial. The Melbourne athlete, 23, recorded a time of 43 minutes, 52 seconds on the 32km track at Ballarat, beating tough competition from Germany and the Czech Republic. The win was especially sweet for van Beek who narrowly missed selection for the 2001 Rome Deaflympics.
