Cycling that close to the edge, in other words as close to the edge as is practicable according to the state of Idaho, can get you killed EASILY. There is NO room to dodge dangerous traffic.

Cyclists driving in the middle of the road are idiots who are not observing the road rules. I seldom encounter such cyclists, which is a good thing since I'd call them out on their idiocy. They don't realize how dangerous this can be to themselves and other road users.

They aren't suppose to be in the middle of the road in the first place. They probably don't know you are there. Just ease back and give them some space and honk your horn. Let me be aware of your presence and give them time to move on the side. When the way is clear then pass them safely.

Some group riders are doing that here - riding in the middle of the road. However, they only do that when there is minimal traffic (vehicles) and I have observed that they are aware of what's behind them. And the road I am referring to is the main road to the steep incline where bikers get their baptism of fire.

When I am driving a car, I sometimes experience a small group hogging the center of the road. But usually on an early Sunday morning when the traffic is light and the road are wide enough (3 lanes).

I've experienced this from both sides of the issue. As frustrating as it is to inch along in a car behind a bicyclist who's taking up the whole road, it's even worse when you are on a bicycle, trying to bypass a dangerous curve and feeling like you are a burden to everyone stuck behind you. A lot of the time I will hop off the bike and walk along the side of the road, but that's not always an option either.

No need to honk the horn. Cars are loud, the bicyclists are well aware of the line forming behind them. As soon as it is safe, they will swerve right to give you right of way.

I rarely see something like that happens here on the road. In most cases,
they just ride across the line in an ordered manner, leaving a noticeable gap for cars to allow a smooth drive pass them without exposing much to a risky contact between a bicycle and a car.

Nevertheless, is not something that I could do under any circumstance. I could not bear the constant urges of look back every few seconds .

You clearly don't know what you are talking about. There are in fact situations when it is legal and nessacary to take the lane. Most of the time a cyclist should keep to the right, but if you had taken a minute to at least skim through the other comments on this topic you would know that people can't always keep to the right.

I hate it when somebody just comes in guns blazing and posts a polarizing comment without at least taking a few seconds to read the discussion instead of just the title.
