A study is being conducted at Kingston University into cadence
selection during hill climbs in road races. The objective is to
provide some guidance to competitors on the 'trade-off' between
stressing heart/lungs or leg muscles as a result of gear selection.
The tests will be in the Human Performance Laboratory in Penhryn Road
and will involve two sessions within the same week, each taking about
1 hour.
Dates and times are by arrangement within the period May-July, Mon-Fri
and 9-5.
A VO2max and Lactate test is included as part of the study if you ever
wondered what your exercise capacity was like compared to others!
