cyst in saddle sore area...how long out?

Amyone had a cyst removed in the saddle sore area? Was wondering how long you were off the saddle
and possibly how much it cost.

That you're asking how much it costs makes me wonder if you're certain it's a cyst and not a common
boil. If the latter, it's not that big a deal; you get it lanced (please, no jokes) and can probably
get back to riding almost immediately. Don't know about cysts.

When a bacterial infection under the skin becomes encapsulated, you end up with a hard nodule of
tissue called a sebaceous cyst. You should go to a dermatologist and have it examined. The doctor
will inject it with a corticosteroid to reduce the inflammation. Sometimes this is effective in
dissolving it. If not, it should be excised, or it may get larger. You can get back on the bike with
no lasting damage after the sutures are removed, usually 7-10 days.
