Popo is low in Prologue -- 18th of people who have gone so far.

What was Leipheimer's handlebar problem (15 sec behind)?

Stuart o'Grady thinks he's fighting for a chance to be on the TdF team, but he won't make it. Unless he achieves at least a stage win the Vuelta, is Riis going to give him a contract for next year?

The prologue is not a significant indicator of anything. But on the other hand, you don't want to do a really bad one. Popo needs to show something in this race; and if he doesn't Discovery should probably support Savoldelli in the TDF.

Anybody know where Menchov finnished today?

Broke? It's not like Levi is a big heavy guy. Hope he wasn't hurt.

Ace is at 4,52,26, relativve to Dave Z's 4,35,86. Ace is almost 17 seconds off pace.

Benjamin Noval is faster than Ace, at: 4,50,63.

No, he's not heavy. He's my brother.

from what I saw and heard on cycling,tv-which was not a lot given the LOUSY streaming they put out today--

the arm rest was flopping, so Levi was all over his bike trying to grip on.
Too bad. I hope those 15 seconds dont come back to haunt him.
I doubt they will...Ventoux and Toussuire will open up big gaps.

Bad moment for Gerolsteiner's components people or mechanics.

Anyone up fpr a little sabotage talk?
    First Hincapie in P-R
    now Levi in Dauphine
I dunno, beginning to look like a pattern to me

Excellent ride by Zabriskie. He should keep the jersey for a few days, given that the next few stages are flat.

Nice to see Hincapie has recovered from his injuries. Valverde is good at short prologues, he could still loose big time in the main TT. Landis looks in line to do very well in that. Andrey Kasheschkin up there in 10th, he will be good support for Vino in this race. Iban Mayo was way off the pace, he'll loose lots more time in the main TT, lets hope he livens up the mountain stages.

O'Grady has already secured a Tour spot. Although i don't know why, he is sprinter, he won't be able to help Basso in mountains (and no TTT either).

That's not a criteria. It's something like to say that Ullrich will suck on TdF because he wasn't on Giro's top 10. Or as if to say that Giro del Trentino is important because its top-10 always gives a sign about who's hot for the Giro. It's self-evident.

Zabriskie's win came as not surprise. As George's good performance. I will focus on Valverde's performance. He's really improving although someone well said that a big TT is another story.
Anyway, that's a form benchmark but not a totalitarian one. We' ve got one month still for the big race, lots of training and fine-tuning to be done.

Yeah, the mysterious L'Equipe reporter who hates golden labs and framed Tyler is back. Must have broken Levi's handlebars. On orders from Dick Pound, of course.

    Good onya Stuart O'Grady.

He's been in the peloton for a long time now and pulls out a 3rd in a time trial (albeit a sprinters in both length and topography) in a pretty big race. He's certainly demonstrating his all round ability and he's not getting any younger.

    Great rider. :)

Settle down, we get it live on cycling.tv, we just have to decipher the accents of the two commentators.

Okay Dimos, what criteria would you like to use to determine if the Dauphine has better riders or the Giro. I'm talking about this year only, of course.

By the way, Ullrich's position in the Giro doesn't matter. If he get's in the top ten in the TDF then he would count as one point for the Giro having better riders.
