Rabobank manager, Theo de Rooy has resigned, according to a team statement issued Friday.

Acording to Velonews

Makes me really wonder about Rasmussen, and what really happened. de Rooy was the one that said Ras admitted to lying, Ras disputes that and now
de Rooy quits.

Its better than a prime time soap. Who could ever write this ****?

He announced he would resign right after he had Raz kicked out of the tour. I assume Rabobank forced him out. I doubt it has much to do with Rasmussen's claims.

Rasmussen said that de Rooy had acted like a mad man on the verge of a breakdown, and had not informed anyone including his own sporting director of his decision to fire Rasmussen before he did. de Rooy is also the only one who claims to have heard Rasmussen admitting to being in Italy. I actually think this strengthens Rasmussen's case a little.
