Funny! ;)

Actually, the OP was referring to a chain of sporting goods stores in Europe which sell their own brand of bike:

www.decathlon.fr

http://www.decathlon.fr/FR/Product_...le/bikes/roadbikes/road-competitio/index.html

and in english:
http://www.decathlon.co.uk

From this year, the bikes have been rebranded as "BTwin", which were seen being ridden at the Tour by AG2R.
As for reviews, they are very hard to come by, although if you are willing to pay, you can get these:

Good luck!

Aren't these bikes only available in France?
No, they are available at Decathlons all over (at least, also in Decathlon stores here in Italy).

The bikes are good value for money, usually a decent alu frame and better than average spec'd components given their prices. You could do a lot worse....

If I recall correctly, last time I looked you could get their Penta Pro (their pro AG2R bike) with Campagnolo Record in the mid 3K range, which is not bad at all.

Of course, resale is ****.

Agree with all of that – loads of Decathlons here in France and they major on good quality at very keen prices, both for clothing and bikes. Well worth a look.

Theres decathlon stores in england there in london, lakeside, nottingham, birmingham, stockport and sheffield. I think b'twin racing our making some of there componets.

www.btwincycle.com/
If I am not mistaken btwin is the new cycling 'brand' for Decathlon. Their 2006 pro bike is fugly (the 9.4), but the rest of the lineup is pretty decent (look at the 9.3 limited).

I am getting the decathlon sport 1 tonight it will be my first road bike!!!!

Hi. I know this is a long shot as this thread is almost 4 years old but I'm considering buying a Decathlon (B-Twin) Sport 1 as my first road bike and am struggling to find any reviews for it.

Has anyone owned or ridden this bike? If so I would very much appreciate your views on it. It seems good value at £279 and as I'm on a very tight budget it's either this or the Carrera Virtuoso.

I have only recently bought a Carrera Subway hybrid for commuting 12 miles per day and have found myself craving a bit more speed! After a few teething problems I am now very happy with the Carrera Subway which is the reason I looked at the Virtuoso aswell.

The B-Twin Sport 1 just looks better though and both have similar spec, I'd just like to hear from anyone who has personal experience of them.

Thank you.

Thanks for that, guess I'm just after some reassurance that it isn't just a toy that will fall to bits after a few months. Would still be interested to hear from anyone who has owned this model. Cheers.
