  1. Decorative Ice Cubes

    For crystal-clear ice cubes, start with water that's been
    boiled, then cooled to room temperature before being poured
    into ice-cube trays. Bottled spring water will also give you
    clear cubes.

    Make festive ice cubes by freezing small edibles inside. For
    instance, use small lemon-wedge chunks or mint sprigs for
    iced tea, a whole raspberry or blackberry for fruit punches,
    a pineapple chunk for pinoladas, a green olive in martinis,
    etc. You can do the same with edible flowers.

    Make large or decoratively shaped ice cubes (for punch
    bowls, etc.) by freezing water in muffin tins, madeleine
    pans, mini Bundt pans, [censored] tins, etc.
