Dent on rims

Will small dents on rims affect the performance of the bike and must it be repaired or are these considered minor problems?

SniperX .. dents can cause the tyre bead to pop out. If they are too big the rim will have to be replaced. What causes these dents????

i'm not sure myself ... its atthe side of the rims ... i assume its done by hard rocks or something stuck on the brake pad perhaps ...
