I have a Tiagra front derauiller on my bike. recently I noticed poor shifting. I checked everything as per Park tool and everything was spec. It got to the point where The lever would not move the derauiller, as if it were frozen. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the little allen screw was loose where the derailer pivots on the braze-on. Is this normal maintenence to tighten this screw up? After I tightened it and rechecked everything, it shifted fine. I am wondering if this is something that just needs to be checked every so often? Thanks.

Yeah, it is something that needs to be check every now and then. No it is not normal for this to happen, but does occasionally.

Anytime I have something with threads on it come loose I always put it back with a tiny bit if loc-tite. Be careful because a little goes a long way, and you may want to get it off later
