๐ ๐ bought a Marin Riftzone 4 months ago with Hope Mini upgrade.
Lots of dry riding etc brakes work like a dream apart from a bit squealy. 1st wet/muddy ride Hope std pads went down to metal. Ok I thought std pads this is a possibility even though they were only half worn. Bought a set of EBC sintered!!! Thought these must be the ones etc. 1 dry ride not bad for 1st ride (20 miles) 2nd ride wet muddy only 3rd of pad left??? (20 miles). + pads not adjusting up to take up wear pistons keep retracting? not much fun downhill halfway through ride with lever touching grips- help?
Its not so much the spending 15 quid every 3-4 rides but to keep changing pads that often can't be right
Anyone help?
cheers
robster
PS I ride at Leith Hill in Surrey so some of you may know that its good riding but should'nt be the most pad destroying
Wow, thats really weird. I don't even want to know how fast you would burn through a rim brake! Still thats not normal. Can you give more info? How much do you weigh, what types of trails are you riding and how intense are the downhill sections, etc...
i weigh about 12 stone. the downhills are quite different. some very slow steep and rocky and some very fast and undulating with short steep tricky bits so there is some slammin on of the bikes. I suppose the longest descent is 1 mile in 1 go
