Just curious. I've heard a few different opinions on this. How much volume would say 50g of dextrose be? I've read 1/3 cup = 75g and 1/2 cup = 50g... which are way off.

thanks

I work for a nutritional products manufacturer and the dextrose we use has a density of around 0.6 g/ml. So 50g of that would be about 83 ml, which is about 1/3 of a cup.

That density is based on loosely packed powder, if it's tightly packed then 50 g would be a little over a 1/4 of a cup.

What the previous poster said, it all depends on how tightly packed the powder is, if you want to be accurate you need to weigh it out.

That said depending on what you are doing, taking the 1/3 cup estimate above is probally close enough for most things (cooking, mixing sports drinks).
