The blame should fall at the feet of CSC and T-Mobile. While the onus
was on Phonak to chase the breakaway since they had the yellow jersey,
the DS must have realised the team's limitations and decided not to
chase. If they did chase the breakaway it is likely that Landis would
have been isolated before yesterday's stage.

The other teams should have picked up the chase then (surely they must
have tweaked that Pereiro has finished in the Top 10 twice)

There's a lot of "shoulds" that are so easy to point out with
hindsight.
remember that a lot of the teams are depleted by now, or split (eg:
davitamon, working for Cadel and McEwen, CSC working for Jens and
Sastre, Disco working for .. um? ...).

I don't think there's any real blame as such, on form, Pereiro was
nothing to worry about at the time he was let go. That he's been able
to hang on on the second round of hills is the suprise. Will he be
able to bounce back tonight after two very very hard days and a long
breakaway?

Stu, obviously.

Pffft.

I deliberately stayed away from the spoilers today so I could watch
lastnight's tape. That's the way you've got to do it.

And here I was thinking Landis was about to give T-mobile "The Look",
bluffing his way off the back :)

CSC working for Jens? Surely you mean Jens working for CSC. Davitamon
only works for McEwen ... Cadel has had to fend for himself in the
mountains. Maybe he should switch to a team that only has GC
aspirations. Telekom was the last team that won yellow and green in the
same Tour and I believe Zabel had no support in the sprints.

My **** that the way you've got to do it! Suck it in, girly man! It's
the three weeks I spend eleven month waiting for. No way will I go back
to the self-imposed media silence of the past. Every bloody person I
know knows I love the tour and wants to talk about it... There's only
so much "LA LA LA LA NOT LISTENING, NOT LISTENING! you can do and
retain friends.
Besides, night-time guy (ie, myself) doesn't care what morning guy (ie,
myself) thinks. Morning guy, of course, wants to kill night-time guy at
6.30 every day.

I know the feeling. My expresso machine broke in week 1 too! NOOOO! Luckily Red Bull was on special, but it worked a bit too well. I hit the sack and was staring at the ceiling for an hour :)
