I just bought a new 2002 Trek 2200 at my LBS. The stock Bontrager stem
was too long for me so the LBS offered to order a shorter stem. When I
came to pick up the bike I saw they had used a Dimension stem--a brand
I'm unfamiliar with. When I got home I took a quick look online to
compare the two. It seems that Bontrager stems go for $70+ while
Dimension stems are more in the range of $30+. Did I get ripped? Or,
should I not worry too much and just be content I got a stem that
affords me a better fit on the bike?

pretty nice. On a Trek 2200, you're not getting a $70 stem.
