  1. i have a zipp 404 w/. a powertap and a zipp disc wheel. i want to use the disc for more speed for a local 40k TT, but it has no powertap to help me pace. what is the aerodynamic diff between the 404 or disc in a TT?

  2. Interesting question... not sure it would be standard the wind flow would be different depending on the turbulance generated by each bike and indeed rider. I'm sure you can get a rough idea. I've been looking at power meter solutions and came across http://www.ergomo-usa.com which is measured in the crank. A lot cheaper than the SRM option too. Good look with your TT!

  3. If it is a flat course I would go with the disc and just hammer. Disc will always be faster than a 404 on the flats and you will have a better time, regardless if you are pacing yoruself with a powertap.Zipp 404 w/powertap for training...disc for racing...

  4. I hope you have an aero helmet. It makes four times more difference in efficiency than an aero front wheel. This is based off a recent study by the MIT cycle team in their wind tunnel. I believe Ivan Basso was there recently. You can also gain some time by moving your water bottle from the down tube to the seat tube. And amazingly, it's better to have a bottle there than no bottle at all! If you dare, go gloveless.... Again more savings. Waste of time spending $2k on carbon aero wheels and then use a helmet that creates a ton of turblence etc.
