  1. Well, today was Rachel's second time out with the Discovery club (A
    Go-Ride club in Dundee).

A lot of new faces, as last week was the National Track Champs and the
    club was well represented.
It was interesting to note the number of young ladies who had been
collecting autographs on their helmets - jason Qually, Chris Hoy, Rod
Edgar amongst others. Really good to see the stars taking time to
encourage the stars of the future.
It was also noteworthy how many do not cycle to the club. I had turned
up with Worf as we had dropped the recycling off on the way.

Anyway despite a wee bit of grumbling, today was a mountain bike day
rather than a track day, so off they went for a bit of a special to the
BMX track under the wind turbines. There were enough adults around so I
went home and had a cup of tea.

Came back to collect Rachel who was very tired. She'd enjoyed herself
but had a couple of falls, one of which led to a reasonable scrape on
her elbow. I'd taken Peter (4yo) on the tandem which raised a few
eyebrows, and several requests to 'have a shot on it'. After a quick
intro to 'the method' I let them loose. About ten minutes later I
finally got Igor back so we could go home..

Nice bit of road riding home. Rachel is getting much better with road
position, looking behind and being ready to go (on the g of go).
Approaching level 2 competence. We did walk a couple of the more
complex/busier junctions as she was very tired.

Anyway, had lunch so she should be off for a hot bath and a rest. And
she's definitely looking forward to having a go on the track next
    week..
