Sounds like you have MetS based on what I recollect about your being overweight and having high
blood pressure. I would guess your HDL is probably low (less than 45 mg/dl or 1.16 mmol).
You should listen to your doctor about using medications (along with low fat/chol to improve your
lipid profile). Perhaps if you lose weight, you might have a chance at coming off of some of the
medications including the BP meds.
