I've ordered a set of Aksiums and know that on many of the high end Mavic wheels you need to buy a special wheel magnet because standard magnets don't fit around the spokes.

Does anyone know if this is also true for Aksiums?

    Many thanks

Most CatEye magnets will be fine of they are the type with a nut. Many of them work with both flat and round spokes. Hit up your LBS or Performance. They are cheap. No need to pay for a Mavic specialty item.

Ditto. I have aksiums with flat spokes and didn't see any issues installing a standard issue magnet (happened to come with flight deck).

Arent' flat spokes pretty common on other wheels as well?

I've used magnets from Polar and Garmin on my Askiums and have worked fine on the flat spokes. The Garmin has a flat groove so the magnet seats better. So, there's three different brands of spoke magnets that should work for you.:)
