I had the pleasure of servicing one yesterday at the bike shop. This was a
35-lb road bike made of "7005 ALUMINUM," gripshifters, caliper brakes
suitable for a child's bike, and I think it actually had single-piece
cranks, too. The brakes were about 2/3rds down the handlebar and were
highly dangerous for general riding.

I see people on these bikes here on campus, cooking it in the drops in a
super-aero position.... going 5-8mph.
