From what I have read, 60% of your
body weight is on the rear tire. I
inspect my tires on a regular basis
for tread wear. I generally rotate
my tires every 6 mos. Any other
ideas?

ideas?Yes, tires should be rotated. How often will obviously depend on mileage/conditions. I tend to rotate @ 1000 miles just because it works for me. I recently swithed from GP 3000's to Conti GP Attak & Force which use different compounds and are front and rear specific. Now I don't have to worry about rotating the tires, I'll just have to wait and see how well they perform/last.

Not if they are front and rear specific

Best thing to do is buy one new one and put em in the front and move the one that was previous in the front to the rear. The front tire gives you the grip in the corners against skidding away a newer one may just be the difference between going down or not.
