That really only applies where you live. If you are currently in the middle of Beijing, then of course, you will receive an unhealthy pollution intake. In that case, using a mask to cover you mouth and noses will solve the problem.

No it doesn't. There are other major cities in the world with pollution you know. I know, it's shocking, but other places exist and they have problems too.

I don't think that it completely outweigh the harmful effects but it's beneficial to some extent. If all the people in a particular city start using cycle, then it may outweigh the effects of pollution.
