Hey guys,

My Dad has got this retro Allez with down-tube shifters. Its a seven speed machine but the shifters arent the safest way to change gear so i was wondering if i could upgrade to these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Sora-ST-3300-7-speed-Right-Road-Shifter-Brake-Lever-/370609527350?forcev4exp=true#ht_2026wt_1139 or something similar.
I don't really know anything about bikes so any tips on how to do it would be pretty useful! I dont even know if this is possible?

Thanks anyway

over and out.

That should work ...

AND (IMO), the price is great!

BTW. If-and-when the time ever comes to change the Freewheel, you should opt for a NEW SunRace Freewheel over any NOS-or-older-vintage Freewheels because the SunRace Freewheels have RAMPED cogs (a very good thing!).

BTW. You will need a DOWNTUBE cable "guide" + some additional derailleur cable housing ...

FWIW. 'I' prefer to use coiled, brake cable housing instead of small inner diameter, parallel stranded derailleur cable housing.

Check www.parktool.com for installation tips.
