I have an 8speed duraace sti shifter and I am having problems
downshifting on the rear rerraileur. The only way I can get the
shifter to downshift is by putting lateral pressure on the larger
upshift lever. If I don't do this the smaller downshift lever is
stuck. The problem seems to be in the STI lever not in the derraileur.
Can this be fixed?
A related question are shimano duraace 8 speed shifters compatable with
8 speed ultegra and 105 sti shifters?

Can this be fixed? If broken cannot fix. Tough to impossible to take them apart, no new
small parts were ever made available from shimano. BUT flush with STI
repair kit-WD-40, or a spray lube. Ensure the inner wire and housing
and under BB guide are OK.Quoted message said:

routing the inner wire on top of rather than underneath the rear der
fixing bolt, to get 8s spacing.
