So has anyone else found this to be true?

Read the following link on a study that just came out.

It seems to me to it's always one extreme to the other. Most drivers give me a comforable amount of space. But others either try to see how close they can come to you (without risking a scratch on their car) or they won't pass until they have a clear view for a mile and give you enough space to drive a Big Rig in between.

This is making the round in virtually every sub-forum of every forum web site.

I dismiss it for one primary reason:

A one person study by a person who managed to get hit by vehicles twice in 200 miles of riding...

According to the article...

"Walker also donned a blond wig and found drivers gave him an average of 5.5 inches more space when they passed what appeared to be a female cyclist."

Well I guess I'm gonna have to get me a wig and maybe a a pink riding outfit too.

Actually I guess it's a good thing I like to ride with my wife and she's often not too far behind me. She's probably saving both our lives, since she has long blonde hair. LOL
