Took off a SRAM 9sp cassette which ran great and put on a Shimano Dura ace, there is one steel spacer at the back of the freehub body on this Mavic wheel that is nec. when running a 9sp cassette, after tightening the lock ring the cogs are loose, rattling and moving side to side... next I tried an old 9sp Dura ace cassette no problem, nice and tight! when i measure the width of the cassettes the new rattly one is narrower than the others by a very small amount (if my measurements are acurate) maybe .5mm...

perhaps the last cog is not pulling on as far as the ones of the 'good' cassettes? odd

    advice?

is a aluminum freewheel spacer acceptable between the cassette and steel spacer?

5mm is no small amount, you're missing something from the DA.
