I have a the 2004 dura ace triple set and was wondering if i can take off the smallest chainring and change the limiter on the front derailer to make it only two rings in the front. Will this work?

This isn't the same as going from triple to double as you still have the q-factor of a triple. Only benefit would be shaving the few grams that the 30T ring weighs, no?
