In the spirit of gdaniels:
For self-extracting crankset bolts whose retaining rings have pin holes:
1. Obtain one fork from kitchen
2. Bend (two?) inner tines forward or backward 90 degrees.
3. Bend the two outer tines so that the distance between them
corresponds to the distance between opposite pin holes in the self-ext.
bolt's retaining ring
4. Insert tines in holes and twist.
5. Conceal evidence of cutlery mutilation from wife/girlfriend to avoid
usual scolding and possible escalation of hostilities into a major row
over household degenerating into a workshop, $%%^$# bicycles....
