I have a left side Dymotech that I want to mount on the rear right of a front fork. Doing so will
not cause a problem with contact pressure. Presumably Dymotech specifies and determines side
designation on an assumption of rear stay mounting. Using it as I plan to would mean that the roller
would rotate in an opposite direction than the side designation might specify.

Are these things directional, or do they use R and L designations just to identify different
applications? Will I harm the unit using it the way I plan to, and will it work to generate
electricity?

Thanks for your help on this one.

No problem. The generator, the bearings and the pulley are in no way directional.
